WV FLL Team Needs Your Help!
The team representing West Virginia at the Lego Land FLL Open, the Technomancers, needs your help between now and the end of April in sharing their geography game with as many people as possible. Their game is titled Geo Jump and it was developed as their innovative solution for their FIRST LEGO League research project and education based challenge – World Class. The Technomancers chose to focus on a problem faced by many – identifying places on a map. The team will be using the feedback in their Project presentation at the 2015 North American FLL Open Championship at LEGOLAND, California May 15-17.
What is Geo Jump?
Geo Jump is a fun and addictive new way for kids to learn to locate the 50 US states or 55 WV counties on a blank map. The game is played on a map printout, using two markers. If the printout is laminated or placed in a transparent sheet protector, it can be used over and over with dry-erase markers. The rules are very simple, and it takes around 5 minutes to play. It is a great activity for kids of all ages.
Download the Game
The game can be downloaded and printed from: https://sites.google.com/site/technomancers3050/
The team also made a video about Geo Jump that you can play to review the rules: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aReN_X7CzdI
How Can I provide Feedback?
The Technomancers are hoping as many people as possible will actually play Geo Jump and give their feedback. The Technomancers have already implemented Geo Jump in 4th and 5th grade Social Studies classes and they saw success! The team would like people to at least watch the video and/or read about the game on their web site prior to taking the survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Z3GRMS3
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate email the team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you in advance the team is looking forward to your feedback!.
