FIRST LEGO League Boot Camps!

To help facilitate the growth of new FLL teams in underrepresented areas of West Virginia, the Educator Resource Center (ERC) at NASA IV&V will be hosting 6 FLL Boot Camps throughout the state of West Virginia during the summer of 2015.  With each Boot Camp hosting 5 new teams, this program expects to increase our state enrollment by 33%!
What is FLL?  FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is the largest youth robotics competition in West Virginia.  With 10 tournaments spread across the state this coming season, it also has the greatest number of strategic partners who help bring the program to you in Charleston, Fairmont, Green Bank, Huntington, Lewisburg, Morgantown, Parkersburg, Shepherdstown, Weston, and Wheeling.
What are Boot Camps? Boot Camps are intended for 1-2 adults and 2-3 students (max. of 5) who are forming a new (rookie) FLL team.  These intensive, two day camps will cover all of the basics your new FLL team needs to start programming, researching, and talking to judges. In addition, all teams that agree to compete in the 2015-2016 FLL season – Trash Trek – will receive a free EV3 Education Core Set, an EV3 Expansion Set, and programming software ($500/team value).
What is the Schedule? Camp will begin promptly each day at 9:00 a.m. daily and end at 5:00 p.m. Adults from each team are responsible for their students’ behavior and well-being.
What is the cost?  Boot Camps are offered at no cost to a Rookie teams thanks to our sponsors.  One coach will be required to sign a contract agreeing to register the team with ($225), purchase a playing field ($75) plus register for a qualifying tournament ($50) in exchange for the free robot and software.

Fine Print: Space for Boot Camps is very limited; all attendees will be selected on a first-come first-serve basis. If a camp is full, you may proceed with the application to be placed on a waiting list.  For specific questions, please contact
Thank you for helping NASA and FIRST inspire the next generation.  We are looking forward to our biggest best WV FLL season ever!
